Our 2025 Winter Season is only a few weeks away. Here’s some important notes and updates which may answer questions you have. Scroll down to see the headings so you don’t miss any important information.
1. Team Lists
There are still quite a few vacancies for Players, Coaches and Team Managers. Updated team lists, following the Willetton Stadium grading, can be viewed on the Jets Website using the password provided to Jets PlayHQ Account Holders.
2. Team Coaches and Team Managers
Thanks to all those who have already volunteered. If there are names or vacancies highlighted in yellow this generally means there is no one registered on PlayHQ for these positions. Coaches receive a complimentary Jets Polo and Hoodie. Our Uniforms Coordinator will contact you. Team Managers can check their duties — here. You will also be contacted by our Uniforms Coordinator regarding team playing tops.
3. Player Vacancies
As you can see from the team lists we still have a number of player vacancies. We need your assistance to fill these. If you know or think of anyone who might be interested in the available places please let me know. For the new Winter Season our Club has 600 registered players for 79 teams = 7.6 av. per team. Excellent outcome but we still need more as our preferred number of players for most teams is 8!
NOTE: Due to low numbers on the Willetton Waitlist we can now directly place girls and some boys into vacancies.
4. Uniforms
All teams will need to have playing tops and shorts sorted before the first game. Willetton Stadium shorts are compulsory for all players. Penalties apply for incorrect uniform. The Team Manager is responsible for distributing and collecting the tops and it is a team decision whether tops are distributed to each player for the entire season or distributed and returned each game. Be aware – No Top – No Play!
5. Your Involvement
All parents are expected to ‘share the load’ by scoring when rostered. Also, player training is beneficial to skill development and team building so the club urges all players to attend training if their team trains.
6. Gooding Cup
The Club President, Brad Carlé, recently posted a message on the Committee, Coaches and Team Managers WhatsApp Group Chats regarding this award. We would like to extend this message to all of the Jets community.
This is what Brad said – “As the season comes to an end we would like to thank you all for your role in supporting the Jets Basketball Club and our players. Today we were acknowledged at the Grand Final Presentations at 2:40pm, for the work we all put in with being awarded the Gooding Cup for the 2024/2025 Summer Season. This award is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork displayed by all our players, coaches, and supporters. Thank you for your continued support and as much as it can get frustrating at times on game day our behaviour and sportsmanship has been acknowledged, and let’s celebrate this amazing achievement together and strive for back to back wins! Go Jets!”
7. Annual General Meeting
