PLAYERS

Willetton Basketball has split its juniors’ competitions into six different age groups. To know which age group your child should play in, please refer to where their date of birth falls in the age grouping below. Players are able to play across 2 age groups to allow flexibility with fill ins. You can view these guidelines here.

• Willetton Basketball shorts must be worn at games and can only be purchased at the Stadium Office.
• Playing tops are provided by the club on a loan basis. Team Managers are responsible for the distribution and management of the allocated tops. Team Managers are responsible for the collection of these tops following the team's last game of the season.
• There are penalties for incorrect uniform.
• It is a Stadium rule that tops are to be tucked into shorts.
• Correct footwear must be worn - for safety and skill reasons, indoor court soft-soled shoes are recommended.
• WBA highly recommends the use of mouthguards by all basketball players.

• Good behaviour is expected from all Jets players at games and Club events.
• Jets and the Willetton Stadium have a NO TOLERANCE policy to inappropriate behaviour and this includes calling out playing instructions to players from the sidelines.
• Respect the match officials.
• Players should arrive at the game and training at least 5 minutes prior to commencement. Every minute late incurs a 2 point penalty against the team unable to commence play.
• Game day issues must be reported to the coach during, or immediately following the game. The Coach (or their delegate) is the only one permitted to raise issues with the Court Supervisors.

• Please advise the Coach and Team Manager of any medical condition(s).
• Include medical conditions when you register.
• Players must have their own water bottle for games and training - it is unhealthy to share drink bottles.
• Adornments or styles in/on the player's hair and/or body must not be sharp or protruding.
• Nails must be short.
• All jewellery including earrings, sleepers and studs should be removed or taped.
• Long hair should be tied back and/or up and must not obscure the number on the back of the playing top.
• Severe injuries received at training or during a game should be reported to the coach.
• WBA highly recommends the use of mouthguards by all basketball players.
• The Club has implemented a "Good Sports Policy" which is available on this website.

• Please notify the coach as early as possible when unable to attend training or a game.
